Greece, Eleusis, Amphora - Neck: A proto-attic painting of the blinding of the cyclops Polyphemus by Odysseus (in white) and his shipmates. Below: A painting of Perseus and the Gorgons. The Gorgons are on the left, Perseus' legs are seen on the right, and Athena stands between them. The beheaded body of Medusa is further to the left (not seen here). The space around the figures is filled with geometric motifs. c. 670 BC.
