Greece, Paphos, House of Theseus - Mosaic of Theseus and the Minotaur inside the labyrinth of Crete. Theseus is waving a club at the Minotaur, who is already on his knees. The older man in the lower left is a rare personification of the labyrinth. The woman in the upper left is Ariadne, and the one in the upper right is a personification of Crete. The guilloche frame imitates Ariadne's thread, showing the way out of the labyrinth (late 3rd century or early 4th century AD).
