Tutankhamun was a Pharaoh of the Eighteenth Dynasty during the period of the New Kingdom in Egypt. It is believed that he ascended to the throne at the age of nine. He ruled between 1333 and 1322 BC and died at the age of 19. This golden burial mask was found with his coffin by Howard Carter in 1922. It is now on display at the Cairo National Museum.
