Emmaus (Nicopolis) (30 pictures)
Emmaus (Imwas/Anwas/Nicopolis) is the first site that was identified, back in the 4th century, as biblical Emmaus, where Jesus appeared to two of his desciples on the day of his resurrection. Another site that was identified later as biblical Emmaus is the modern village Abu Ghosh.
