Tegea - Temple of Athena Alea (8 pictures)

Tegea lies just seven kilometers southeast of Tripolis. The site is of archaeological interest because of the remains of the Doric propteral temple hexastyle, dedicated to Athena Alea. It was constructed and decorated between 370 and 350 BC by Skopas, one of the greatest sculptors in ancient Greek history.
