The ancient Acropolis of Rhodes was at Aghios Stephanos, an elevation to the northwest of the Old Town. The Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios was next to the Stadium and the Odeon. To the east of the Sanctuary were caves devoted to the Nymphs and stoas that were part of the aqueduct. The Gymnasium of the ancient city also lay in the vicinity.
