The Archaic temple of Athena is a Doric peripteros hexastyle dating from the end of the 6th century BC. The temple was heavily damaged during a landslide in 480 BC. Restoration work led to the walling of the spaces between the columns to the north. Another landslide in 1905 completed the demolition of the temple.
