There are five documented phases of construction of the temple, from the 7th century BC to the 1st century AD. These phases are consistent in form, dimensions and orientation. The ruins that remain today mostly date from the complex as it was in 219 BC, with a temenos opened by an Ionic propylon hexastyle, facing on the other side a small temple that was a sort of Ionic oikos prostyle tetrastyle with an adyton.
