Aizanoi (215 pictures, 7 videos)

The archaeological site of Aizanoi is located 57km southwest of the town Kutahya. The city has a temple built for Zeus which is the best preserved temple in all of Anatolia.
There is also a large theater and a stadium adjacent to it. This combination of theater-stadium is unique. The Roman remnants include an agora, a gymnasium, colonnaded streets, a macellum (round structure), and an odeon, all built in the 2nd century AD.

For more information about the history and archaeology of Aizanoi see the entry Aizanoi in our Knowledge Center.
