Alinda (133 pictures, 3 videos)

The site is close to the village of Karpuzlu. Alinda was one of the important Carian cities. The theater was built in the Hellenistic age (4th-1st centuries BC) and was altered in Roman times (1st century BC – 4th century AD). The agora dates from the Hellenistic period, and is the best preserved agora in Asia Minor. The city wall, in good ashlars, is well preserved on the hill. It was built by the Carian king Mausolos (377-353 BC).
