Direk Fortress (43 pictures)

Direk Fortress is located on a hill close to Datgeli village on the way to Sincik after Cendere Bridge. It is estimated that the fortress was built in the 70's BC by the Romans and used until the 4th century. According to archaeological research, three temples built here by the Romans were completely destroyed as a result of a fire. There are ruins of a Temenos built during the period of Commagene (290 BC – 72 AD) just close to it.
