25km west of Behramkale, in the village of Gulpinar, is the ancient city of Chrysa (Chryse) where the 2nd century BC Temple of Apollo Smintheus is located. Important scenes of the Trojan War told in the Iliad are displayed on the architectural elements of the temple.
