Beth She'an (Scythopolis) (643 pictures, 15 videos)

The Tel is rising to the south of Harod River. Some twenty settlement strata were uncovered on the Tel, the most ancient dating from the Neolithic period (5th millennium BC) and the most recent from medieval times. Built in the 1st century AD, the 7,000-seat theater seen today is the product of renovations carried out in the 2nd century. The site also features a Canaanite city, bathhouses, streets, a Roman temple, a Byzantine agora and a church.
