Bethsaida (49 pictures)
Bethsaida is situated 1.5 Km off the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee. Bethsaida was probably the fortified city Zer mentioned in the Hebrew Bible. According to the New Testament, Jesus performed some of his most important miracles there. The Apostles Peter, Andrew and Phillip were from Bethsaida. The archaeological finds include a city gate and a palace from the Iron Age (1000-586 BC), houses from the Second Temple period (536 BC – 70 AD) and a Roman temple.
