Gamla (71 pictures)
During the Bronze Age there was a fortified settlement here, which was renewed in the Hellenistic Period (2nd century BC) by Jews who emigrated from Babylon. All the findings of Gamla (coins, vessels, etc.) are typically Jewish. Excavations revealed the remains of the wall from the Great Revolt period (66-73 AD), the town's fancy synagogue, several houses, and traces of battle– hundreds of catapult stones, thousands of arrow heads, and nails from the war machines.
