Hamat Gader (199 pictures, 6 videos)
The city's ruins can still be seen a kilometer to the south of Hamat Gader, within the current Jordanian border. During the Roman era (2nd century AD) the site served as a Roman bathing area and was called Gader. Gader was included in "the treaty of ten cities" 'Decapolis'. An ancient synagogue, erected on the site during the Byzantine period (4th-7th centuries), is the only evidence which remains of the existence of a Jewish community.
