Robinson's Arch is an arch that was built during the Second Temple period and was part of a stairway leading into the Temple Mount. It is located to the south of the Western ('Wailing') Wall and to the right of the Mughrabi gate, inside the excavation area of the souther wall. The arch was discovered in 1838 by the American researcher Edward Robinson. Evidence show that the arch had spanned over paved streets and probably served as the first "interchange" in history.
