Here stand the remains of one of the greatest monumental and artistic complexes in the world, dating from the 5th century BC. It includes the Parthenon that was built between 448 and 438 BC entirely in marble. Other impressive structures are the Erectheion, the Odeon of Harods Atticus, the long Stoa of Eumenes the Temple of Dionysus, the colossal Temple of Zeus Olympios, the Roman agora, the "Tower of the Winds" and more.
