Benevento (137 pictures, 2 videos)
Benevento, the main town in the Sannio, dates back to the 4th century BC. There is considerable archaeological evidence here, starting from the Arch of Trajan (114-117 AD). The Roman Theater was built by Hadrian and restored by Comodus in the end of the 2nd century AD. Other highlights include the Church of Santa Sofia (762 AD), the Cathedral (780 AD), the Rector's Fortress (1321 AD), the Ponte Leproso Bridge and more.
