Helorus (43 pictures)
The ancient town of Helorus stood on a hill southwest of Noto, near the mouth of the river Tellaro. It was probably founded around the 8th century BC. The built area is delimited by walls. The agora is surrounded by many structures with arcades. In the southwestern part there are a temple dedicated to Asclepius and a Temple of Demeter. To the north stands a Sanctuary of Demeter and Kore, in use from the 6th to the 4th centuries BC.
