The "Royal Villa" of Aghia Triada stands on top of a pre-existing residence from the Proto-Palatial period (1,700-1,400 BC). The site features remains of a 16th century BC house with a courtyard, a Mycenaean shrine, an agora, pottery workshops, stores and a stepped ramp. Remains of the paved road that joined Aghia Triada with Phaistos can still be seen.
