Segobriga (103 pictures)

Segobriga is one of the best-preserved Roman cities and the most important archaeological site of the Spanish Meseta.

Since the 1st century AD it became a central node of the Spanish Roman routes, and the administrative capital of the great agricultural and mining territory. It was later abandoned due to the Islamic conquest of Spain.

The remains include the Roman Amphitheater and Theater, with a very well preserved cavea, the city Well and its gates, two thermal buildings or Roman Baths, and the Forum.
