Tunisia (2534 pictures, 63 videos)

After establishing itself as an economic and military power, the Phoenician nation of Carthage in north Africa finally succumbed to Rome in "The Punic Wars", which ended with the defeat of Carthage in 146 BC and the establishment of the first Roman province in Africa. The Romans' mark can still be seen all over Tunisia in the remnants of the Roman cities, paved roads, aqueducts and traces of ancient agriculture.
