Magnesia on the Meander (248 pictures, 4 videos)

Located 12km south of Ephesus, Magnesia is an impressive site. It was ruled by the Persians until it joined Alexander the Great's side in 334 BC. The Temple of Artemis in Magnesia is the forth largest temple in Anatolia from the Hellenistic period (330-30 BC). Also found in the site are a propylon of the 1st century BC, a market basilica from the 2nd century AD, an unfinished theater, an agora, a gymnasium and Roman baths.
