Temples were the most important public buildings in ancient times, largely because religion played a central part in everyday's life. Often placed in prominent positions, temples were also statements of political and divine power.

For your convenience, the temples were divided to sub-categories:

Under Temples and Sanctuaries by Gods / Emperors the photos and videos of the temples are divided according to the gods, goddesses or emperors the temples were dedicated to.

Under The Orders the temples are divided into Doric, Ionic and Corinthian.

Greek Temples  - More than 100 temples that are either from the Hellenistic period or that were built in Greek style.

Roman Temples - Temples that were built in the Roman period. 

Temple Types divides the temples according to their colonnade features:
