Patara is located between Fethiye and Kalakan. According to legend, it was founded during the 5th century BC. The city possessed one of the principal trading and naval harbors of Lykia. The archaeological findings in Patara include the monumental city gate, Roman baths, a theater from 147 AD, an administration building, a granary, a 2nd century temple and several tombs.
