Saint Pierre's Church is a natural cave on the western slope of Mt. Slaunn, the eastern extension of Mt. Silpius. Christian tradition regards it as one of the earliest places where the first Christians of the city met and prayed secretly. The cave is thought to have taken its present day appearance during the medieval centuries after the crusaders' conquest of Antioch in 1098. The statue of Saint Pierre was placed in 1932.
