Tefen (27 pictures)
In the area of Tefen, in the Western Galilee, are three large castles: Mahoz, Tefen, and Hazak. There has not yet been any organized excavation in Tefen. In Tefen ruins, traces of walls may be seen prominently, as well as a gate and a tower whose date is unknown. The earthenware that was gathered dates from the Hellenistic (4th-1st centuries BC), Roman (1st century BC – 4th century AD), Byzantine (4th-7th centuries AD), Crusader (1099-1260), and Mamluk times (1260-1516).
